The Pajaro Valley Unified School District is conducting a district-wide parent survey to help our schools know what parents think and feel about their child's school experiences. You may take the survey online by selecting the Elementary or Secondary Parent Survey link. These surveys will be available on January 22, 2010. Please complete one survey per student. During his final state of the state address last month Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger assured the public that he would spare K-12 education in his next budget.  After two years of deep and damaging cuts to public education this was a welcome message.

The Student Services Department’s Family Literacy Project is once again proud to take the lead in bringing the Watsonville On the Same Page community reads event for 2010 to the Pajaro Valley Unified School District.

Pajaro Valley Unified School District will hold its Annual Parent Conference on Saturday February 20, 2010. “Keeping the Connection” offers local parents/guardians the opportunity to learn positive practices that will support them in remaining connected to their children throughout their development. Parents/guardians will enjoy a keynote speaker and the opportunity to attend 2 sessions from over 20 informative and educational workshops; offered in English, Spanish, and Mixteco.

          The CDC reports that no states are reporting widespread flu activity, and that incidences remain low at this time.  Lots of vaccine is available for both seasonal flu and H1N1.  Our schools continue to partner with local clinics, County Health Depts, and others in this regard. It is possible for a 3rd wave of swine flu to materialize in the spring, but all looks good at present.  Continue good hygiene practices to stay healthy and help prevent all contagions, washing hands thoroughly and frequently. 

PVUSD has set up an area for staff, students, parents and community members to read about the latest information regarding the California budget crisis, its effects on the Pajaro Valley Unified School District, and ways that we will be addressing this crisis.
